Concerned individuals with a heart to support
More and more individuals in India and abroad come to know about the work we do and want to join hands to support our initiatives. Many of these donors give, not because they have plenty, but because of their concern for the people we serve. Many of them come to know about our mission through social media and individuals whom we have never met, are willing to give. What really matters to us is not the large amount that we receive from a person, but the large numbers of people who show their concern. Some have pledged an ongoing monthly support.
Like-minded institutions
There are a few small organizations that support social development initiatives and donate funds to DF from time to time. They keep track of the work we do and are convinced that what we do is in line with their goals and objectives. It is heart-warming to receive support from such like-minded organizations.
Fundraising through children and youth in urban schools and colleges
This was one of our most meaningful ways of fundraising. These were ordinary youth, most of them children, who empathized with children and youth that we serve in faraway places. When they heard about the living conditions and the social issues that plague their rural peers, they collected money on a voluntary basis from their friends and family by selling representative stamps and bookmarks. The money thus collected was pooled in to support our projects. More importantly, children and youth in Bangalore were sensitized to think about their less privileged peers such that care and concern for them was on the rise.
